Government Polytechnic Institute abbreviated as G.P.I is a Diploma awarding educational institute in various Engineering disciplines, Information Technology and other related technical fields.

 Government Polytechnic Institute Wari (G.P.I Wari Dir Upper) is the only Government Sector institute in the whole district Upper Dir, imparting technical education to the local citizens. Non local students also get admissions here in their reserved seat from government side and also in certain important disciplines; students come from other remote districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan to get admissions in disciplines of their choices for his bright future.

G.P.I Wari has established in 2006 and regular classes were started by the same year in two disciplines namely Civil Technology and Mechanical Technology. Later on by the increasing demand of public, Electrical and Petroleum technologies were also started in the best interest of students and their parents.

G.P.I Wari is located at the nose of G.T Road to Chitral in Tehsil Wari, District Upper Dir, in a very scenic place. It is one of the most beautiful institutes in all G.P.Is of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for its open, scenic, environment friendly and relaxed site and building.

G.P.I Wari provides services under the umbrella of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (KP-TEVTA) https://kptevta.gov.pk/kptevta/. Alumnus of G.P.I Wari has secured good job positions in various Governmental Organizations and NGOs by earning a financially sound and charming career.  Even abroad our alumnus is a reason of pride and motivation for us, their parents and also a source of inspiration for coming young generations.

Diploma Of Associate Engineering abbreviated as D.A.E is an engineering three years course after matriculation in Science. It is equivalent to FSc Pre-Engineering. Students passed out in this program can apply to Engineering Universities entrance Tests on open merit basis and also there are special reserved seats in UETs for them in their respective disciplines which is an extra advantage for D.A.E Students. A numbers of our students have got admissions in BSc engineering Program in UETs.

The exceptional advantage of D.A.E is that, the passed out students from this program are eligible to jobs just after three years of education after matriculation. The nomenclature of their posts is Sub Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Overseer, Junior Instructor, Charge Man etc. After securing job in their respective fields they can continue their study by his self support contemporary to financial coverage for their families.

Due to diversity of technical fields our students are much exposed to jobs in all main stream public institutions/organizations,  where Electricity, Aero planes, Trains, Missiles, Signals, Rays, Robotics, Solar Systems, Machines, Buildings, Roads, Tunnels, Bridges, Over Passes, Under Passes, Hospitals, Different Industries, Laboratories etc are incorporated.  Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Police,  etc are some of the examples where our passed out students can get job just after three years of Diploma Of Associate Engineering (D.A.E) after matriculation.
